The Best Parts of Assisted Living

Assisted Living communities come with great benefits for residents that you just don’t get from living at home. From the community to the amenities to the safety and care provided, an assisted living community might be the best place for your loved ones. Making this list wasn’t easy for us because we are biased toward assisted living communities, but we wanted to highlight some of the great perks of being a part of one!

Community

Assisted living communities are just that – a group of people living in the same area with characteristics in common and a sense of togetherness. One of the tiers in Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs is the need for belongingness, and that exactly what an assisted living community provides. At Streamside, this is what we strive for every day. We want our residents to feel that they are a part of our community, and we provide many ways to make that happen! Our assisted living center is designed to give residents as much independence as they want, while still being there to care for them when they need it.

Ameneties

Another great perk of assisted living communities? The amenities! We believe that making a variety of amenities available to residents is key to making sure our residents can get what they need, whether that be socialization opportunities, transportation services, or medication management. Additionally, Streamside provides three meals daily, in a community-style dining room, with a variety of food options, so even those picky eaters can still get the nutrients they need every day.

Saftey and Care

One of the most important parts of an assisted living community is the safety and care that it provides. This is one of our top priorities at Streamside; we want our residents to feel safe in our community and know that they can get the care they need. Our 24-hour medical staff includes a full-time nurse, CNA, and RN ready to assist any resident in an emergency. Each unit comes outfitted with an emergency call system, so help is never more than a button push away. In our Memory Care building, doors are protected with electronic keypads so those residents and their loved ones can be assured that they are safe within the boundaries of the property.

Is Assisted Living Right for Your Loved Ones?

As mentioned before, assisted living communities come with perks that you can’t get from living at home. The sense of community, a plethora of amenities, and enhanced safety and security are why many people choose Streamside. If you think this might be something you are interested in for your loved ones, don’t hesitate to contact us. We would love to answer any questions you might have or schedule a tour of our community!
